"KNOW-HOW, DURABILITY, AUTHENTICITY:
OUR TIPS FOR CARING FOR YOUR KLEMAN SHOES,
MATTER BY MATTER."
KLEMAN shoes are designed to last. Made in France with quality leathers and exacting craftsmanship, they embody an authenticity that transcends seasons. To preserve their comfort, style, and longevity, proper care is essential. This guide will walk you through the process step by step, according to each type of leather and everyday situations.
Avoid wearing the same pair two days in a row to allow the leather to breathe.
Remove dust and dirt with a soft cloth.
Use a suitable product (cream, lotion or polish) to preserve suppleness and appearance.
Waterproof regularly, especially during the wet season or before a trip.
Not always. Waterproofing is recommended for delicate leathers like suede or nubuck. However, it's unnecessary—or even inadvisable—on patent or pre-treated leathers. So remember to check the material before applying any product.
Regular maintenance is important, but there's no need to overdo it. Generally, conditioning every 4 to 6 weeks is sufficient, depending on how often you wear them. Avoid excessive use of products, which can eventually damage the leather. After exposure to rain, simply allow them to dry completely before brushing or conditioning them if necessary.
Wipe with a soft cloth, allow to dry at room temperature, then nourish with a suitable wax.
Use a Kleman suede eraser to remove the stain, then gently brush with our crepe brush to restore the leather's texture. These accessories are designed to clean effectively without damaging the material.
Remove the insoles, stuff them with newspaper, and let them dry at room temperature. Avoid placing them near a direct heat source such as a radiator or stove, as this could damage the leather.
Never use wax or nourishing cream: opt for a special nail polish lotion.
Smooth leather is nourished with wax, while nubuck should be maintained with an eraser and a protective spray.
Waterproof them and slip them into a fabric cover to prevent friction.
No, they are not essential, but they offer real advantages: they help to maintain the shape of your shoes, absorb moisture after wearing and help to prolong the life of the leather.
No, each material requires specific care. An unsuitable product can damage the leather.
