Leather Care Guide

Taking care of your KLEMAN shoes is the key for them to last. Like an everyday beauty routine, caring for your shoes requires attention and adapted products for each type of leather. Take a look at our cleaning guide below to see how to protect your beloved KLEMAN’s shoes.

How to take care of full-grain leather shoes?

You need to take great care of your leather shoes to preserve their good shape.

Before taking them out, spray your KLEMAN’s leather shoes with a waterproof protector. It will keep the surface from getting marred if they do get wet in the rain. Clean your shoes regularly with a soft brush and without pressing too hard to remove daily dirt. Wax with a similar coloured wax or a natural translucent wax depending on the original leather.
If only one part of your shoe is worn out, we still advise you to wax the entire shoe for a nice final result.

How to take care of nubuck leather shoes?

Nubuck leather is nothing else than a full-grain leather that has been sanded, producing a velvet-like surface. More delicate than the full-grain leather, the nubuck leather requires a monthly ritual to ensure your shoes a longer lifespan.

Before taking them out, spray your KLEMAN’s nubuck shoes with a waterproof protector. It will keep the surface from getting marred if they do get wet in the rain. However, be careful to not apply too much waterproof product on your shoes or you will deteriorate the soft surface. To clean your nubuck shoes, brush with a piece of natural crepe. For more persistent stains, it is preferable to use a soft brush. Then apply a cream or waxing of the colour of the leather. If dirt persists, clean with soapy water and leave it to dry in the open air.

How to take care of suede leather shoes?

To be more specific, suede leather is made from the underside of the leather skin. Because suede does not include the tough exterior skin layer, suede leather shoes are less durable than standard full-grain leather shoes. Due to its textured nature, suede may be become dirty quickly. The maintenance of this material must be carried out more carefully.

Before taking them out, spray your KLEMAN’s shoes with a waterproof protector. It will keep the surface from getting marred if they do get wet in the rain. Clean regularly with a soft brush and without pressing too hard to remove daily dirt: dust, stains… Do not use waxing!
